m knows what the law means for families. They’ve shaped it in landmark cases to Minnesota’s Supreme Court. They’ve taught it to hundreds of current and future lawyers. And they’ve literally written the book on it, one used by attorneys and judges across the state.

m built their career in some of the nation’s largest law firms litigating high-stakes divorce and child custody cases. They’ve been sought out for their care and creativity in litigation and their depth of appellate experience by professional athletes, business owners and executives, fund managers, top doctors and lawyers, and scions of the state’s wealthiest families.

But for m, the law is also a tool to build a more equitable future. And they founded boulette, PLLC as a law firm with a mission. From supporting Native American parents and caregivers, to protecting trans+ Minnesotans, to fighting for parents of abducted children, m works for an intersectional justice that, “at its best, is power correcting everything that stands against love.”

bio

Jenny knows that every family’s story is different, and she works to find the heart of that story and make a confusing and emotional legal process a little more bearable.

Jenny brings decades of paralegal experience to her work—25 years spent helping guide people through the court-system with compassion and integrity. Her work has brought her from small, boutique litigation firms to some of the largest law firms in the United States. And her experience runs the gamut from complex mental health issues in custody cases, to intricate financial tracings, to fraud litigation, to multi-million dollar business valuations.

Jenny’s equally committed to social justice and making the law accessible to everyone. Over the course of her career she has supported change-making litigation on behalf of the LGBTQ+ community, domestic abuse victims, and vulnerable children, with a mission to elevate voices that often get missed.

"If we want a beloved community, we must stand for justice, have recognition for difference without attaching difference to privilege."

experience

Companies often talk about “bet-the-company” litigation, we know our clients risk much more. They deserve a creative perspective tailored to their needs, not platitudes about “what we always do.” Here’s some of the experience that has shaped our perspective:

  • Litigating interstate and international jurisdiction disputes over where and how families with ties abroad should resolve finances and custody.

  • Crafting strategies for multi-million dollar business valuation disputes, from venture capital funded start-ups to family-owned businesses to hedge fund valuation, carried interest, and complex tax questions.

  • Dissecting complex mental health issues in custody litigation like  personality disorders, abuse allegations, psycho-sexual concerns, and intimate partner violence and coercive control.

  • Untangling divorce-related fraud including hidden and concealed assets and business transactions.

  • Advancing Minnesota law in ground-breaking cases on property division, spousal maintenance, child custody, and child support.

  • Protecting children’s relationships with psychological parents, grandparents, and extended family in the face of complex family dynamics.

  • Developing sophisticated legal strategies across dozens of appellate cases interweaving juvenile law, constitutional challenges, federal questions, and more.

  • Unpacking the complexities of generational wealth in trusts, inheritances and family partnerships.
